Design 1- Jessie Ware Poster Design Submission

Jessie has a very 80's retro sound, which I love. I wanted to interpret her sound, into a simple visual piece using minimalism as specified in the project brief. I chose to express a New Wave feel using color. The inspiration for this piece is the feeling expressed in her song, "Wildest Moments". To me, the song is about how sometimes two people aren't always a perfect match. In that case, there are heated moments of conflict and passion. However, it's those few wild moments that stand out in your memory. My visual interpretation uses shapes. The wild being the visually dominant magenta shapes. The objects are the same size, and shape, but positioning and color varies.

That contrast makes it difficult to work together, as visually expressed in the way that the same shapes are at opposing angles, creating tension. However, there is that magical moment when the two complete each other, working together in a unified evolution. I wanted to imply a sense of controlled chaos.

In this design variation, I still wanted to express controlled chaos using the triangle shapes. They represent moments in time. The line down the center of the cohesive shape creates a division and tension.
